A complete guide to the platforms and content types accepted on Greynola.

Greynola accepts submissions from a range of social media platforms, and the specific formats accepted can vary by mission. Most missions accept video content from major platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, but some missions may accept additional formats or restrict submissions to specific platforms based on the campaign goals.

Before submitting to any mission, always check the mission brief for the list of accepted formats. This ensures your submission qualifies for review and scoring.

Supported Platforms

Greynola currently accepts submissions from the following platforms: YouTube (standard videos and Shorts), TikTok, Instagram (Reels and posts), X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Threads. Some missions also accept submissions through a generic 'Other' category for platforms not explicitly listed.

YouTube is the most commonly accepted platform across missions and tends to generate the highest engagement for film and TV content. YouTube Shorts has emerged as a strong format for quick reactions and hooks that drive viewers to longer content.

TikTok is widely accepted and is particularly effective for short-form reactions, hot takes, and viral-style content about films and shows. The platform's algorithm makes it possible for any creator to reach a large audience regardless of follower count.

Instagram Reels and posts are accepted for visually driven content — cinematography breakdowns, aesthetic compilations, and visual storytelling formats work particularly well here.

Mission-Specific Restrictions

Some missions may restrict accepted platforms to align with specific campaign goals. For example, a studio running a campaign might want only YouTube content to build long-form awareness, or a mission might focus exclusively on short-form platforms for viral potential.

These restrictions are clearly listed on the mission card and in the mission brief. If a mission only accepts YouTube and TikTok submissions, submitting an Instagram link will not be reviewed.

The platform restriction system exists to give filmmakers and studios control over how their content is distributed. It also helps creators focus their effort on the most impactful format for each mission.

Content Type Considerations

While Greynola is primarily a video content platform, the specific type of video content is flexible. Reactions, reviews, analysis videos, commentary, rankings, breakdowns, fan content, thematic videos, and creative interpretations are all valid formats.

The key requirement is that your content engages with the mission brief in a meaningful way. A 10-second video that barely mentions the film will not score as well as a thoughtful 3-minute reaction, but a tightly edited 30-second take that delivers a compelling hook and unique perspective can score very well.

Production values matter, but format does not dictate quality. A well-produced talking-head video is just as valid as a heavily edited essay. A creative TikTok with smart cuts and strong writing can outscore a technically polished but generic YouTube review. The scoring system rewards execution within your chosen format.

Platform Scoring Bonuses

Greynola includes platform-based bonus points as part of its scoring system. Different platforms carry different bonus multipliers, reflecting the relative effort and reach associated with each format.

YouTube and YouTube Shorts submissions may receive bonus points reflecting the platform's importance for long-form film content and the effort required to produce polished video content. The specific bonus amounts are displayed on the mission details page.

These bonuses are layered on top of your base score for hook, creativity, and production quality. They reward creators who produce content across multiple platforms and encourage diverse content distribution for each mission.
